OOTD - Nexus Top

It feels like time is standing still.

It still feels like Winter (snow is in the forcast for tomorrow!)

Our basement is still not completley finished (we are 99% of the way there)

I still don't know if this baby is a boy or girl (and won't for another month yet)

I still haven't cleaned my house for SIL's visit this weekend because I still have zero energy.

At least I still fit into my regular clothing! I had a minor catastrophe with my Nexus Top this morning...it got stuck in my jacket zipper! I was in such a hurry, I had to just yank it out without much care. Thankfully, the already frayed edges on this top disguise the small area I ripped.

OOTD - Nothing New to Wear

The last few Anthro sales have been a big let down for me. I have my eye on a few pretty pieces, but I really want to hold out for markdowns since realistically, I'm not sure how long I'll be able to squeeze into non-maternity clothes. Here are the items I'm most tempted by at the moment

I think the flowy tops could be good transition pieces, and the dresses...well I'd be happy to wear them a couple of times and then save them for next Spring. Unfortunately, even if I bought these pieces today, it's not actually warm enough for short sleeves or bare legs. Sigh. It's another day in a sweater for me...

OOTD - The Gathering Tank

Apparently, all of your energy is supposed to return in the second trimester. I am just tapping my foot over here waiting for that to happen.

This week...
*I had an amazing ultrasound where the baby waved to me almost non-stop
*Then the nurse needed to take blood and missed my vein. Twice.
*I called about 5 different H&M's looking for the Hasbeen clogs

*I started to lose my patience when not one sales associate knew what I was talking about. They were supposed to be out on April 20th, I explained...and right about then a lightbulb went off in my head reminding me that this is the month of March.
*My son bruised a bone in his foot, which compelled me to take him to the dr. on his third day of limping, just to be *sure* it wasn't broken. And they of course needed an x-ray. Which they then called to tell me wasn't able to show anything one way or another. Helpful!
*On day four my son woke up with his foot feeling much, much better. So much in fact that he wanted to go to his tennis lesson that afternoon.
*So we did. Only his instuctor didn't show up.
*Yesterday I needed to buy a fruit tray for a teacher's luncheon at my oldest son's school. I signed up for a fruit tray because it was easy.
*I had to go to three different grocery stores to find one! Next time I'm sticking with paper products.
*My mom (babysitter!) went to Florida and my husband (relief worker!) went to Boston. At the same time.
*It snowed two days in a row. Happy Spring!
*NOTHING I wanted went on sale at Anthro.
*but some cute shoes did restock in my size at Nordstrom
*I'll end on that happy note ;)

OOTD - Annona Dress (with tights!)

Impatience got the best of me this morning and I did in fact wear the Annona Dress with tights. Sadly, it may be the only time I wear this dress, since after just a few hours of having it on, the straps are fraying and falling apart. This is an isolated quality issue for me, and I've never returned something to Anthropologie for not wearing well. I love the dress, but even the sale price is a lot to pay for something that doesn't stand up to even one wearing :(

At church this morning my friend Luanne stopped me to say she'd seen my recent pictures on the blog and I'm looking as big as her sister who is SEVEN MONTHS along in her pregnancy. EEKS! I guess I have been a carb-loving fool this first trimester. I've gained fifty pounds, as in 1/2 my normal body weight, with each of my boys - so be advised that objects on your screen are as large as they appear and will only get bigger ;)

OOTD - Cozy in Petticoat Cardigan

There is a lot of volume on the Petticoat Cardigan. A lot. Since adding bulk isn't something I'm concerned with at the present time, I'm looking at the positive aspects of this sweater - the gorgoeus color, the darling ruffles and it's perfect weight for when I don't require a jacket.

This weekend is pretty low key for us - we tackled some errands in the morning (I finally picked out tile for our kitchen backsplash - yay!) and tomorrow after church I'm taking my oldest to a birthday party. I still haven't decided for sure about wearing the Annona dress with tights, but all the reassuring comments make me think I should give it a go... Especially since our 10 day forcast doesn't really show any hope for bare legs...

OOTD - Ready for the Weekend!

Today was absolutely gorgeous weather-wise and I had every intention of wearing my new Annona Dress except my hair didn't want to cooperate this morning and wouldn't hold a curl. I couldn't bear to waste a pretty dress on a bad hair day, so I went casual instead.

Of course the temperatures are going to nose dive for the weekend - which leads me to ask - could the Annona be worn with tights? I tried it on and thought it looked "okay" but not as good as bare legs. Do I wait until it's warm again to wear the dress? Or wear it to church on Sunday, like so

I'd love your thoughts on the matter!

OOTD - Featuring Green, Of Course!

Happy St. Patricks Day! I happen to be 100% Italian, but my husband and kids have Irish in them. I'm still wearing green to be festive, and just in case there are any die-hards on the preschool playground that would try to pinch me otherwise ;)

I found this Country Life Top from Anthropologie on Ebay last year, and I love the pretty ruching detail.

And here is my outfit from yesterday that I didn't get a chance to post.

I hope everyone has fun today - I'm going to leave treats from the leprechaun for my boys to find after school.
