Sunday School Teacher

Sunday's are the one day of the week that I can be all dressed up and actually have somewhere to go! Tomorrow I'm breaking out my new Twilit skirt from Antrhopologie - it's probably my last chance before Spring. I don't own the Both Sides Blouse (must rectify that!) but I couldn't find a picture of this Gap shirt in black that I do plan to pair with the outfit. Also, the Snakebite belt is on backorder for forever it seems, and my Aldo T-straps are plain, not wingtipped, also, they were only $17 in store. My Aldo practically gives things away - much better deals then what I find online!

Anthropologie has a very similar cardigan to the one I own above. I was happy to pay less for The Limited's version, but Anthro's is of course, very pretty as well.

*ETA - I looked at my Aldo shoe box and mine are the Harbolt style - how cute are they in brown? http://www.amazon.com/ALDO-Harbolt-Clearance-Heels-Womens/dp/B001LAGSCW

Playing on Polyvore

I was thrilled to pick up this adorable skirt from Anthropologie during their sale last week...now I'm just pondering pairings....I wish the top cardigan was a deeper green like the one below it. I also wish the Both Sides Blouse was still on their website. And finally, I wish for a winning lottery ticket so I could afford the t-straps ;)

Ebay & a birthday

Sawyer is four years old today! I thought Anthropologie's Night Skating top with it's fun confetti print would be perfect for a celebratory dinner at Chuck-E-Cheese.
I love the ruching on this! I also L-O-V-E my new Winding Ruffle boots! I found out last week that they had been further reduced from their original price tag of $258 to....drum roll please....SIXTY DOLLARS. I called the store I ordered them from and they were happy to do a price adjustment for me over the phone. My Corn Maze boots also arrived from Ebay and they are beautiful! I almost need to pinch myself when I realize that both boots cost (WAY) less then full price of one pair! Happiness. I tried to find the best light in the house, which ended up being in Graham's nursery.
Another Ebay score was this cute Country Life tee. The seller didn't know the name on this one, and had it listed as a ruched v-neck, which I think contributed to me being able to snatch it up at such a low price. One of my favorite colors, and super comfy!
Also nameless on Ebay is this beautiful dress by Floreat. Anyone know what it was called? I searched Anthropologie's old catalogs online, but didn't see it. I paid $48 SHIPPED. Seriously. Sometimes I could just kiss Ebay. I just saw another idenitcal dress sell for nearly double!
It's silk, and so pretty! What color cardigan would you throw over this if you were going to Mother's Day Brunch? (hint, hint husband)
I am so embarrassed by my bruised and banged up legs - I think it's the car seat knocking against them??? Yikes!
And my favorite win? Anthropologie's Flight-of-Swans dress. Oh my. These swans make me think of Make Way for Ducklings and the cute park and boat rides in Boston. My fingers couldn't click the BIN button fast enough! I love this dress so much I could twirl around in it all day. This is a size 0 - which I worried about all week while I waited for it to appear in my mailbox. But it fit like magic. And I have to say it could be my most favorite clothing possession of all time.
Too bad boys don't do tea parties.

boot gluttony

Ordinarily, I would not buy myself two pairs of boots in one week. But these Winding Ruffle boots from Anthropologie have been sold out online for quite some time, and when Customer Service was able to find a pair in my size, I couldn't let them slip away.
And then just this afternoon I spotted the also long sold out Corn Maze boots on Ebay. And the seller accepted my best offer, which was a totally reasonable price for tall leather boots. And not just any boots, but ridiculously CUTE ones. As much as I've been longing for Spring, I'm glad I still have a month or two to wear these beauties.

Alone Time

This weekend I was able to go to the mall. Alone. Bliss.

A friend just called to tell me that our local Gap is offering 40% off your entire purchase today. 45% off if you have a Gap card (which, you should!). Unfortunately, I don't think I'll be able to get back there, but I'm anxious to buy this shirt. I tried it on in a purple plaid that I don't see online and loved it! I knew I didn't want to pay full price though, so I held off.
I returned my unflattering cardigan to AT Loft and swapped it for this one, which is being offered at 50% off right now.
Rolled Shaw Collar Cardigan -I bought the Oatmeal color
This is from the Lounge collection, and the only reason I didn't buy it on the spot is because there is a 25% off promo starting the 22nd. I'm going back for it! It was ridiculously comfortable, and actually looked nothing like lounge wear. I loved the black!
I saw this skirt last time I was at the store, but didn't have time to try it on, then. The skirt is adorable! However, it feels like it's been scotch guarded. The material just felt weird to me??? I'd consider it on sale.

I also brought back the mint top to Banana Republic - and scored at the "Final Sale" rack! The denim skirt was $16 and the gray corduroy was $11
I picked up a couple of full price items too - but I didn't see the plaid shirt online yet (it also comes in white) or this cute tee - check out the pretty detail! The v-neck is low on this one, but it's not too snug for a layering cami underneath.
This was another $11 skirt that didn't make it into the above photo, because I wore it to church on Sunday.
I wish I could scour my local stores more often...but with a stroller, that's not usually possible. If you can - get out there today and take advantage of the President's Day sales!

Neither wind, nor rain, nor sleet, nor snow...

My mailman grumpily informed me today that we'd need to clear our mailbox if we expected future deliveries. Luckily, I had a package - so he needed to come to my door anyway. Except, he doesn't actually come to the door. He just pulls into our driveway and beeps the horn. Seriously. And I'm like an over-eager teenager waiting for a date, because I go running out (usually in my slippers) every single time. Except of course, when I'm not home...I wonder if he feels stood up on those occasions?
Anywho, I was excited to see my pretty new top from Banana Republic. It was a nice distraction from the cabin fever we were experiencing all afternoon.

I don't think it's a keeper though. It was a teensy bit too big, a teensy bit too long, a teensy bit too low in the front and had more of a sheen then I expected.

I'm trying to reform and only keep things I LOVE. And not just on the hanger. Know what I mean?

I hate to be a Debbie Downer - but another thing that's not working for me? Wrap sweaters. I don't know what I'm doing wrong. Other then not growing above the 5ft marker. They just never look right on me. Sadly.

From the side, everything appears well.
Ann Taylor Loft Textured Wrap Cardigan

From the front? Aagh! Did I just gain 1000 pounds? Did my hips quadruple in size?
Am I tying it wrong? Is it this hopeless?

Looks like I have some returns to make when the roads clear up.

more cute shoes

because a girl can never have too many!

Comes in four colors, all of which make me wish I could wear flats
I'm pretty sure I don't own anything to wear these with
but in black - well, that would be a responsible purchase!

What's the first thing you think of when you hear the brand "Naturalizer"

Seriously, they should consider changing their name. When I buy a pair of cute new shoes, the last thing I want to feel is

-sensible
-elderly

Little Blue Box

comes with a little price tag, too (by Tiffany's standards, anyway). How sweet would this be for a High School graduate? I don't know any personally, which is probably a good thing - because if I bought this as a gift, I'm pretty sure I'd never be able to part with it...

Tiffany & Co. Bow Pendant

A foot of snow outside

but inside it's all about Spring! I am lazing about this morning, flipping through magazines. I spotted this little beauty in Lucky magazine, lucky for me Banana Republic is offering 25% off full price merchandise. BRSUPER25 at checkout!

PS - Piperlime

These super cute KensieGirl pumps also came in my order. I'm telling you - you could run in these, for real. The heel height is low, and the bottoms are not slippery. They are comfortable as can be. A cute navy shoe is hard to come by. I'd snap these up (on 10% Tuesdays - unless you have some better promo code for Piperlime in your hot little hands).

Old Navy Reviews - the good, the bad and the ugly.

I am easily sucked in at Old Navy. The prices are low and the casual pieces are staples in any stay at home mom's wardrobe. Problem is, I experience buyers remorse just about every time I order from them. I get the items home and realize that they look or feel cheap or the sizing is inconsistent or worst of all - I wash something and yikes! Shrinkage, pilling, etc. I'm making an effort to not be as glutinous when I fill my online cart. I'm choosing fewer pieces to try, and returning the things that don't work, even if they were only $2.99.

Let me just get the bad news out of the way, first. Mostly because this is the way I uploaded pictures on Blogger, and I don't want the hassle of editing the Html.
Distressed Bermudas These pretty much looked like I had fish scales on my thigh. Otherwise, they fit true to size and I liked the color. They will be going back.
The Cropped Rosette Cardigan is very cute - I am a big fan of peach, and I'm happy to see it on the scene this Spring. I paired this with the Layered Ruffle Tank from J.Crew. The tank is too big, and super unflattering on my hips when worn alone - but I do like it layered. I'm wearing an XS in Whisper Pink...which despite it's name, did not clash with ON's Peaches N' Cream.
LOVE, and more love the Ruffled Neck Cardigan. This is a small in Hint of Mint (the color is almost identical to J.Crew's "breeze") I immediately used my Rewards Bucks to order another in Cream of Artichoke (who picked that name? Sounds gross) I don't think you could go wrong with this in any color though - super cute!

Another winner was the Floral Applique Cardigan. I tried on something similar to this at the Loft, and the price tag was double.

The material on the Rain Jacket-in-a-Packet is very thin and lightweight. I'd much rather wear this then a poncho if I'm caught in the rain at a theme park this Summer. It has two rows of snaps. so you can button it looser if you prefer.

And finally, the ugly. I'd skip the Envelope-Neck Jersey dress, unless you are in the market for a too short, unflattering nightgown. I love the half sleeves, but nothing else on this one - too bad, so sad.
What cute things have you found at Old Navy recently? Any great deals?

Anthropologie Reviews

First up is the Optimist Dress - which I was madly in love with online. Not only was it a polka dot print, but the polka dots were orange - squeal! Floral sash, 50's vibe....the potential to be perfect!

I enlisted the help of my almost 4 year old to take some pictures, and told him to hang on a second while I closed the door to our hall bath. Always a good listener, Sawyer began snapping right away. I was going to delete these shots, but then realized they were helpful -
1. If you see this dress - RUN in the opposite direction. It will crush your cuteness hopes and dreams.
2. Notice the gaping armholes and excess fabric - so sad.
For reference sake, I am almost 5ft tall and this dress is a size 2. I didn't realize when I ordered that there was a size 0 available. Unfortunately, I don't think it would help to size down on this one. Horrible fit aside, the exposed zipper on this dress? Complete c@rp, it looked and felt cheap, and the quality was very poor, it was difficult to zip/kept sticking. On a much happier note, the Openwork Vines Skirt was everything I hoped it would be. Beautiful, well made, amazing fit and not too long - yay! This is a size 0, and it definitely sits a bit higher on your natural waistline. The bow is icing on an already incredible skirt.
The Double Torsade Necklace in Mint is affordable and pretty - I have visions of it against white eyelet come Summer.
yes, that's spit-up on my shirt. Glamorous.
Lastly, is the Ticker Tape Belt - which I am not sure about. I failed to look at the back/closure of this before I hit the submit button on my order. The colors are too cute for words, and the size and fit are great - but to me, the belt looks like it has two front sides??? Thoughts? I'm also not sure what I would wear it with, the front is too wide to slide through the belt loops on jeans...and jeans are pretty much all I wear....
but I'd be willing to branch out for this belt. Suggestions?
