Tagged & Pool Tags

Sorry I've been scarce this week! You've not missed anything, since everyday I've looked like some variation of this:

Lots of time spent at the pool this week, and getting dressed, after getting drenched, hasn't been happening.

I wanted to answer these fun tags though, since I've really enjoyed reading everyone else's answers this week. I was tagged by four fantastic bloggers, and for the sake of time (and the fact that I couldn't come up with good answers for some of them!) I'll be answering 1/2 of their questions :)

First up is the recently married Sara at You, Me & Anthropologie I'm impressed that Sara is so on the ball after just returning from her honeymoon!

1) If you could be on one reality TV show, what would it be and why?

I'm glad this isn't what reality show I should be on, because I'd be really embarrassed to appear on Super Nanny, even though my crazy family could probably use the help ;) I'm going to say I'd love to go on Say Yes to the Dress and buy a gown for a 10 year vow renewal. Actually, I think vow renewals are dumb (I should probably phrase that more politely...) but I LOVE wedding gowns, and I can't think of any other excuse to shop for a second one! When I got married, I went ultra conservative with my gown, and it was the first one I tried on! I regret not spending more time on the process, and the fact that I didn't wear something that played up my figure more - I just didn't have the confidence at the time...

2) If you could re-name yourself, what name would you choose (first name)?

Ahhh, I love names, I actually did try to rename myself Abigail once when I took piano lessons in middle school - I told the teacher that was my name, and my ever indulgent mother just rolled her eyes and went along with it! Anywho, I'd say Darby - I like that it's uncommon and has some spunk to it.

3) Would you rather give up your cell phone or shopping at your favorite store for a year?

So easy! Bye-Bye cell phone. I am like Wilma Flinstone with technology. I have an ancient flip phone, that I hardly use at all, and I have never sent a text message. I'm sure if I had something fancy with app's it would be much harder to give up ;)

4) Favorite fast food place?

Sonic. One just opened here a couple of months ago, and I love their lime-aids and tater tots.

1) Choose one accessory to wear daily for the next year, a bag (be specific!), a necklace, or a scarf - what do you choose and why?
Well, I rarely switch purses anyway, so I'd go that route and pick something killer, like this Kooba Caitlin Tied Shoulder Bag - I think it's adorable, neutral and seasonless.

2) What keeps you up at night?

If I see even a commercial for a crime show (think CSI or Dateline Mystery) I will lay awake and imagine awful scenerios of our home being broken into, being kidnapped, attacked, etc. Of course, there is your usual worry about health, kids, etc. - but most of my sleepless tossing and turning comes from far-fetched, probably never happen in a million years kinds of things.

3) Name a TV show or movie that you love to watch, but you're ashamed to admit you watch?

I am a Real Housewives junkie!

4) Do you sacrifice comfort for fashion?

If I love an item enough, you betcha! I'll find a way to make it work, even if I have to freeze, pinch my toes or spend the night stuffed into my Spanx.

1. What are your favorite song lyrics and why?
It's hard to choose! I'll narrow it down to three...

-Anything by Natalie Merchant/10,000 Maniacs; These are days, you'll remember. Never before and never since, I promise. Will the whole world be warm as this as you feel it. You'll know it's true that you are blessed and lucky.

-Even though I never listen to country music, I heard this song at a friends once and oh my goodness, the words just resonated with me! Trace Adkins, You're Gonna Miss This;

2. If you could be a character from a book for a day, who would you pick?

Tough choice, again! I'm going to have to go with my childhood favorites and say either Anne of Green Gables or Laura Ingalls.

3. What color best represents your personality?
I'll say pink, since I love girly, pretty things.

4. If you could have one talent that you don’t currently have, what would it be?

Singing. Hands down! I would love, love, love to be able to carry a tune. I would sing at church, to my babies, in the shower and loudly in the car!

1. If money were no object, what is the one thing you would buy right now?
Hmmm...I'll go big. A diamond anniversary band to be presented at my not-happening vow renewal ceremony ;)

2. What is the last book you read or are reading right now?
I positively love to read, but have been in a slump recently. I did buy The Guinea Pig Diaries, after loving The Year of Living Biblically, by AJ Jacobs. But I haven't read it yet.

3. If you had to describe yourself in one word, what word would that be?
Perceptive.

4. Do you consider the cup half empty or half full?
Half Empty. But thankfully, I'm married to a guy who's half full so it balances out :)
